    Want to remind you that, although Dr. King's birthday was earlier this week (January 15) the Post Office is closed on Monday in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

    Federal law (5 U.S.C. 6103) establishes the following public holidays for Federal employees. Please note that most Federal employees work on a Monday through Friday schedule. For these employees, when a holiday falls on a nonworkday — Saturday or Sunday — the holiday usually is observed on Monday (if the holiday falls on Sunday) or Friday (if the holiday falls on Saturday).

    And just to help keep you on track for the rest of 2013, here's a list of future USPS holidays:

    • Tuesday, January 1 – New Year's Day
    • Monday, January 21 – Martin Luther King, Jr. birthday (observed)
    • Monday, February 18 – Washington's birthday (observed)
