“The United States Postal Service is privileged to have the name and spirit of Steven Riccione forever associated with our Geneva Post Office.” Kathleen Burns, U.S. Postal Service Western NY District manager
The community celebrated with cake and heartfelt words as the Historic Geneva Post Office was renamed in honor of hometown war hero, Corporal Steven Blaine Riccione. The U.S. Post Office at 67 Castle Street now bears a plaque with his name and the date that the bill was signed into law by President Obama.
In attendance were postal personnel, Congressman Richard Hanna (who introduced the bill), Congressman Tom Reed, friends of the Riccione family and of course, Cpl Steven Blane Riccione’s siblings, nieces, nephews and extended family.
